| Do You Have House Rules? The
Association of Apartment Owners has drafted a set of house rules that
help maintain the high quality of life at Kamaole Sands. Here are the
"big five": What is Your Smoking Policy?1. Quiet Hours: 10 pm to 8 am. 2. No towels or bathing suits on the railings. 3. Kamaole Sands is a smoke-free property. See below. 4. Trash Chute Hours: 9 am to 8 pm. 5. Parking is reserved. Extra cars may be parked at the Visitor's Section of the North driveway. At Kamaole Sands, smoking is limited to parking areas and designated smoking benches, which are located well away from
buildings to limit second-hand smoke intrusion into units. Most units and all lanais, walkways, BBQs, and the entire central courtyard are designated no smoking. Repeated violatiors are subject to fines. Hawaii
State Law also designates smoke-free zones around all retail and food
service buildings. Do You Have a Group Policy?Groups that reserve four or more units must register with AOAO well ahead of their arrival, and provide a $500 deposit to AOAO. Call AOAO for details (808-270-1205) Are Handicapped Accessible Units Available?A
few units have been remodeled to accomodate handicapped individuals.

ADA compliant with respect to common area access. Are There Security Personnel on Property?There
are security personnel available from 4 pm to 4 am. They assist in
answering questions, addressing concerns, enforcing house rules and parking
regulations, and making sure all guests and residents have a
pleasant experience at Kamaole Sands. What Kind of Weather Can I Expect?Maui Weather Today has a month-by-month description of weather on Maui. Should I Be Concerned about Hurricanes or Tsunamis?Maui
has been spared a hurricane for over 100 years. On the other hand,
occasional tsunami warnings are issued. Where Can I Get a Good Deal on a Condo Rental?What Are the Beaches Like? Maui's
beaches are what make Maui the Number One island in the world.
Since South Maui is on the leeward side of the island, the ocean
is generally calm, even lake-like, in the mornings until the trade wind
pushes swells our way. Afternoons
can be windy, but boogie-boarding is excellent. In the summer,
south swells from storms south of the equator come from time to time
and may create hazardous conditions. In the winter, northwest
swells from storms far to the northwest also create high wave
conditions. What's With the Grocery Prices? As Hawaii is a very remote island, you can expect food prices to be higher than you experience at home. The
major markets offer cards that give shoppers breaks on specials. Many
guests shop for fresh fruit and veggies at swap meets or farm stands.
